We would love to feature your loved one's handprint at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in the form of an Animal Handprint Tile. Siblings are welcome to make a handprint as well!

These handprints will be displayed in the family restroom in the Zoo's new exhibit, Adventure Cove. This restroom will also be equipped with an adult-sized changing table.

If you would like to take part in this project, we're holding two Animal Handprint Creation Days. The first will be Saturday, August 15 from 12pm - 4pm. The second will be Saturday, August 22 from 12pm - 4pm.

Both of these days will be held at my church, New Albany Evangelical Free Church. The address is:

12999 Worthington Rd

Pataskala OH, 43062

We recognize that some of the participants on this day may live with complex medical needs. To that effect, we will maintain social distancing for all that request it and will be wearing masks for all that wish us to do so. If masks are a hindrance to communication, we will happily remove them. We will also have hand sanitizer at each table, and handwashing stations for your convenience.

How To Participate

Please send an email to StayAllDayProject@gmail.com with the following information.

  1. Which day you'll be coming on.

  2. What time you'll be arriving on that day.

  3. The names of all the handprint makers who will be participating in your group.

  4. Your first, second, and third choice of an animal for each handprint maker from the list below:

*Sea lion *Sloth

*Flamingo *Penguin

*Elephant *Lion

*Tiger *Tortoise

*Macaw *Stingray

*Cheetah *Toucan

Please respond by Wednesday, August 5th to enable us to provide adequate supplies for all participants.

On the Day

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by one of our volunteers who will help your loved ones spread paint on their hands, and then stamp it on paper. Later, the handprint will be scanned and turned into a digital piece of animal art!

We have plenty of parking available. Please feel free to occupy two parking spaces if you need room for a wheelchair or wheelchair lift.

Our restroom facilities are complete with an adult-sized changing table, should you need one. There will be plenty of room for wheelchairs in our main auditorium, and we will do all we can to make sure your experience is enjoyable and fun! Light refreshments will also be provided.

Thank you for being part of such an important venture - we look forward to seeing you soon!
